International M242 Class Rules
The old Canadian & US Class Rules have been superseded by the new amended International Martin 242 Class Association (“IMCA”) Rules, updated March 1, 2009, October 28, 2009, November 16, 2009 and effective January 1, 2010. They are available for viewing here.
Fleet 3 has adopted a small number of variances to the IMCA rules. Where there is a difference from the IMCA rule, the Fleet 3 variance is highlighted in red. The variances may also be viewed separately here.
The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (“RRS”) govern how M242s compete on the water, as amended by US Sailing, the Canadian Yachting Association (“CYA”) or the Sailing Instructions for any particular regatta. You can find the current rules and other related documents at the ISAF website here. You may also download a complete copy of the current rules here.
The IMCA Rules are subject to the International Sailing Federation (“ISAF”) Equipment Rules of Sailing (“ERS”) in terms of the methodology used by Fleet Measurers to ensure that each M242 measures in accordance with the IMCA Rules. You can find the current rules and other related documents at the ISAF website here. You may also download a complete copy of the current rules here.
